The music festival ended on Sunday, ok about 5:00 Monday morning, and I get talking with Fran. He has had a great festival and has decided to take his time getting back to work, that can wait until Tuesday. Would I like to try Furancho?
Furancho is individual households selling their excess hooch to the public. There are strict rules on how this can be done. Food can be served but only a maximum of three dishes. The wine is the current pressing and is unbottled, straight from the barrel. You see Furancho advertised by signs with a bay leaf branch drapped over. While the bay remains green the wine can be expected to be good, but when the bay turns brown, so has the hooch!
We follow directions to a recommended Furancho only to find the bay was brown. The first sign Fran had pointed out was Green, so we retraced our steps. Sometimes difficult to identify the right house so Fran bangs on the door. They were closed until the evening, but opened anyway. Wonderfully hospitable the wine is served in a bowl, with bread and tapas. It is a feast and the setting cool under vines. I get enthusiastic with the bread which brought the roof down - they call
dipping your bread in the wine soup of the donkey!

Back at Cesantes Fran and I continued the party - what happened to Tuesday?
