Although it suited me, I know the family would be unhappy rough camping, so headed back north and found Camping Tonnelle outside Notre Dame-de-Monts, the very next beach access.

This campsite seemed spacious with few campers around, mainly static vans and plenty of shade. All set up and ready for the family to arrive.

Weather was fine so we spent time on the beach. We tried the kite and buggy but the wind wasn't up to it and I dragged all the kit back over the dunes to camp. Parents left for Ile de Re and Kian stayed the week.
