24th May - kitesurfing gets errr, difficult

left Camping De la Baie to head past Carnac and out to La plage Kerhillio, good wind expected. Kite-Spirit were there and I bought a helmet from them, couldn't find mine. Got quickly set up but there was no one to launch my kite, what should I do? Decided to walk the kite into the sea where I knew I could launch safely. Successfully in the sea but found my right footstrap was too tight, so I was unable to get my foot well into the strap, it was ok yesterday? Back out of the water, made the adjustment and got ready to relaunch the kite only to discover the harness leash was twisted round the bar. Released the harness to uncoil the leash and lost the kite! Can't remember how I recovered it but finally got set up to surf only to find the kite very erratic and difficult to control. Persevered until I was downwind of the main beach and decided I'd had enough. Walking the kite and board into shore someone kindly ran out and landed the kite pointing out it was damaged. Not surprising it was difficult to control with a rip across and down the leading edge.
