Out on the rib with Francois, this time in the middle of the bay with sand bars either side.
Got off to a great start with a long run and several dives of the kite, but why did I hit the water? 'Set your eyes on a point on the horizon' says Francoir, 'look at the board or the kite and you're in the water' he says before heading the rib towards the next student. I get the impression I'm perched on the board with no weight on the back foot or in the harness and no edging with the board. Another three exhausting hours and it's back to Fromentine to drop the gear and SHOWER. On the way back one of our party followed the rib all the way back, keeping pace and wake boarding in our ........ wake. All this one handed, weight on the back foot looking as comfortable as can be, why can't I achieve that?
Despite being physically tired I'm feel a lot better about the whole thing, almost opptomistic.
Stopped for a beer in Fromentine where one of the customers had an altication with the landlord. He was well drunk and when pushed by the landlord fell back and hit his head on the paving. A bit dizzy when he got up and blood evident from a wound. The landlady cleaned him up and he went off with a friend. Hopefully there was no concusion just a blood wound. The guy was completely out of order and in the landlord's face. Hope he was alright.
